Owner and lead instructor Megan Rhey was introduced to Pilates by a friend in 2003 and has been hooked ever since. In 2006, Megan decided to make Pilates her career and completed the comprehensive Core Dynamics training under Michele Larsson. That same year, Megan co-opened Chandler, Arizona's first equipment-based Pilates studio. Although Megan’s initial training was very classical (under the Eve Gentry lineage), she focused most of her continuing education on the contemporary approach to the Pilates method.
Through her love of getting a good heart-pumping, sweat-filled workout coupled with her appreciation and knowledge of traditional Pilates, the concept for AMP Pilates & Fitness was born. Megan spent several months planning the perfect studio, one that would offer Pilates to every type of client: the client who preferred the more traditional approach to Pilates, as well as the client who wanted a more modern and athletic approach to the Pilates method.
In 2014, Megan’s family decided it was time to move from the Arizona desert to an area that provided more of what her family loved. Fort Collins, Colorado, was the perfect choice, as her family enjoys being outdoors in nature's beauty and wanted a smaller town atmosphere. The Rhey family moved to Fort Collins in May of 2015 and immediately started the plans for AMP Pilates & Fitness.
Megan obtained her PMA certification in 2008 and is also a licensed instructor offering Personal Best Pilates Instructor Academy’s™ teacher training. Graduates of the PBPIA teacher training will be completely prepared to sit for the Pilates Method Alliance-Certified Pilates Teacher exam (PMA-CPT, the ONLY national Pilates instructor certification).
